    E30 m3 cluster

When I bought my rolling chassy e30 m3 it was missing the instrument cluster I thought that it wouldn't be to difficult to find a rebuilt one but this is proving difficult to find so if anyone has one that they might wanna part with I'm interested for sure or if u know where to find one please point me in the right direction as I'm trying not to go full after market ecu and wiring harness to get data. Which would include all new sensors for engine and body more then my wallet will permit. Or if u know how to convert a 325 cluster to an m3 that might work as well. The car is an 88 model m3, which will have an s52. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for it knowing how hard they are to find but not crazy.

As long as it's in serviceable condition.

I was basing price off a cluster that was sold here by user chaseN in 2013 for 400 US dollars shipped. If you want more then that I need more info and prof the cluster actually works and that your friend is actually willing to part with it.

Youll have to spend $600-$800 most likely. Just use a non M cluster and put an M sticker in the middle of it :)

thought about that but won't have the oil temp gauge, and the fuel gauges are different so the level won't be right unless I'm able to find a cluster that came from a car with the same size fuel tank and same vdo fuel gauge. So kinda wanted to find an m cluster if I knew it was in good shape worked properly and didn't have cracks and or broken tabes that price range would be agreeable. But again was basing my first offer off what I saw one go for. If I have to I may go that route though.

A lot of has changed since 2013. Good M3 gauge clusters are now $500-600+...if you can find them for sale. It's just supply and demand. Get a cluster from a 86-87 325 and have it refurbed to your specs by Bav restorations. They can replicate the M3 cluster but you'll have to ask them about the M3 tach/oil temp gauge. You'll have to see what it's worth to you. You can always get a standalone VDO oil temp gauge too. Goodluck.

Don't worry too much about the condition of the crystal. You can get a good one from any E30 cluster. Ditto for the case.

Thanks for all the info. I'll probably look a little longer for an m3 cluster an keep in mind that I'll be looking at spending 600 plus I now have a better idea of what their worth. I'll also look into bav restorations maybe shoot them an email see what kind of set up they can come up with form me.

Ok reworked my budget to account for 600-800 for cluster so e30lyf if your friend wants some money or anybody else on here that has an m3 e30 cluster let me know.

Even if you were to buy the Tach/oil temp new and add it to a 325i cluster they are almost $400. Your better off holding out for the real deal IMO. Good luck on your search

I agree bmwdayz, had a friend at Bmw look into it he said just the tach/oil temp gauge was like 500. I'm continuing to search for an m3 cluster but also looking into an all stand alone set up with vdo gauges or auto meter put it together myself. I'm also looking at stand alone ecu setups like aem and mega squirt motech great for tuning and mods but very pricey, don't know if I need all that even if I do rebuild my second motor as a turbo s52. Does anyone here know of a place here in Houston that deals with stand alone ecus? Any way my search for an m3 cluster continues lol
