Motor Mount Support Plate

Its the piece that goes under the motor mount and wraps under the subframe. #9 in the pic and is oddly called a hood catch lol

Are these necessary? My poly mount bolts weren't long enough so I left em off. Thought it would need it at least on the exhaust side but just couldn't get em on.

They probably aren't necessary since We've been driving without one for 3 years. I do think they are designed to strengthen the mount and since I've got things apart I just figured why not replace it.

It was an $8 part and my friends with shops usually pitch them since they have no value. I thought someone would have one laying around and would hook me up. I'm sure I'll trip over one before the car is back on the road and if not will do without it

Didnt mean to sounds like I was questioning why you'd want one, I was more asking more to see if I need to get longer bolts and put em in. If you want mine you can have em, pay for shipping, although I think I bent a few parts of one trying to get it to fit.

The plate curls under the subframe and has a hole for the tab on the engine mount to lock into which pretty much tells me it's there to prevent (or limit) engine rotation. The point then would be to protect the mount from sheering not to mention a place to mount the heat shield on the passenger side.

Depending on what you replaced yours with, it may or may not matter.
