In my experience there is some difference but Im not sure why. I picked up some from an early model coupe and had to modify the passenger side to fit in my late model convertible. The AC lines needed accommodation.

Court M3 if you are looking for and E30M3, the driver's side is different as it doesn't have the hole for the air intake from the air filter housing, the air box on E30M3 is different from regular E30

For what it's worth I put late model smiley lights in my early model and the plastic covers don't fit. The smiley light is quite a bit longer than a regular sealed bulb of the early style.

So I assume they made late model plastic covers.

Ps, this is in relation to an m20 powered car with the air intake on the left side of car.

Damn suspected it was, but yes need to be E30 M3 specific.
