I have a mint broznit rear plastic bumper still on the car with all the trim, and a rust free apron as well. Was going to put it on my car, but depending on what you can offer, I'll sell it.

Aaaah, i just bought one from theurodepot.com Excellent condition with all trim included + a taillight for $290 shipped. I bet you probably could have been satisfied with less than $290, so if that's the case, i'm sorry i didn't wait longer, but oh well.

I"m going to be going to CR's wholesale BMW to get a q-panel and tail panel. Wanna meet me there? chill out for a little?

Definitely. When are you going? We could probably get a few people together. Shoot me a pm.

Do you need a 2 door or 4 door 1/4 panel? I have a mint late model shell, 4 door, waiting to be chopped up. I heard CR's is a $$$$ place, and doesn't have a lot of "great" stuff. But that could be BS, I've never been there myself. And Yes, even $200 would have definitely satisfied me, haha.

Don't you need an inner fender well too? I needed one for my accident, which looked pretty similar. Even if not, it's hard to get the 1/4 panel off without damaging that as they are pinched together. They are only like $130 brand new from BMW, if I remember correctly.

I'm planning on going on friday late morning and picking up a few things, including taht quarter panel + rear tail panel. I just got my bumper and taillight which should be delivered sometime early next week.

I just talked to the guy and told him that I needed any 88-91 quarter panel AND tail panel from any 4 door. He said there are 5 on the lot, so i can pick my favorite one.

I'm probably going to bring my 345i with me, as I could use some second opinions as to what I may need additionally. I'd love to meet up with you and a few other guys. I'm sure I could use the help.

I'll keep in touch with you, but am thinking of going on this friday late morning. Keep in touch with me if you are serious about going.

About your q-panel. You have the shell i'm interested in? I mean, bc if tha'ts the case, I could definitely take yours. i'd pay you if it's cheaper than CR's :)

That works out pretty cool, I have off Friday. I'm definitely interested as long as no BS comes up (my schedule is gay).

I have exactly what you need, an 89 325i 4 door, the shell was mint, I parted the car out. I haven't found any rust yet. I'm using the doors on my 85 325e, and the front was cut off for a friends 325i. I can send ya some pics to be sure it's what you need. What kind of price range did CR's give you?

We would need something to chop the car up with, but I could come up with a sawzall (sp?) from harbor freight or something.

Not sure who else could meet up on a Friday during the day, but jhower08 (on this board) usually spends the weekends at my garage, we either work on my car or his.

Hey, yo, this could be a good thing

CR offered me $150 for both panels, but if you could beat that, we could have a deal. Maybe you can give me a couple tips or maybe even help me get this off properly. that '89 325i is absolutely perfect for my needs.

I have a sawzall, extension cords, and an angle grinder with cutting discs, so with those tools, I should get it all off perfectly. I was planning on taking out my passenger seat and keeping both the Q-panel and Tail piece together as one piece.

you could offer me better, i'm there dude. 631-291-5910. Pending your schedule, I'm hoping we could get together on friday. You could give me directions. We'd be all set. Let me know the second you know if you're free on friday...
I don't know. If both of us feel up to it, I will pay you to help me perhaps pull it out and maybe weld in the new panel? We can talk later. I'll be around tonight.

              Thanks!

I can do $125. They gave you a good price... They quoted me $300 for the quarter and inner fender only, for an early model car.

I'm no body shop guy, I had someone else do the work and teach me what he was doing. You'd probably be better off on your own, haha. I can simply show you what I did as much as I remember.

Tail piece is cake, especially when you want to keep it connected to the 1/4 panel. Where do you want the pillar cut? I cut mine near the bottom, not sure if that's better or not. Any chance I could keep the apron part of the 1/4 panel? I'd like to be able to sell or keep the apron to swap onto my car.

I'll call you, but count on me having off, I know I have off work, I just want to make sure nothing stupid comes up (lately I've had bad luck with cars breaking down, etc...)

Do you need a trunk lid or brackets?

I'd like a ride in this monster! We can take it easy if you want :D haha

                  Ok justin, here's the deal.

I'm sure you've checked out my posted pics of the car after I crashed...

As you can see, I will need the apron of both the tail piece and the q-panel. Since you have interest in it, i'll give you $135 for both. How does that sound?
I do not need a trunklid. You can see the car this weekend, but the trunklid is easily repairable. Sure i'll take you for a ride, but i'm going to take it easy :)

I guess i'll have to figure out how to correctly take this apart. I really don't even need much of the c-pillar to be honest. I just need a good point to cut it so i can easily weld it to the existing car...Cutting it at the bottom will be easier for everybody. it doesn't fuck up with the chassis of my car, no rear windshield removal, and less bulky.

If you wanna do it for $135, i'm game. If you need the apron that bad, then that's cool too, i just need to know so i can go to CR and get it from there. We can still work on it if you want. Keep in touch by the end of the week with an address and shit.
                  I'm down...

That's fine, I see it looks like you'll definitely need the apron part, hahah.

                    I don't think I have a tail light.

There's no easy way to take it apart, like you can with the front end, everything is welded and seam filled and fights to come apart without damage. I did do what you are planning to do, I cut below the pillar to avoid removing glass. I went in to the seam of the door, behind the weather stripping. I'm not sure how we can easily separate that though on my parts car. If you bring the tools and the knowledge of how to do it, I'm game. I'll help with what I can, but I've gotta rebuild my track cars suspension and motor by May 19th, so I can't mess with it all weekend or anything.

                    I'll call ya then.

Were you gonna stay down for the weekend or something? There's a hotel less then 5 minutes from my garage. If you did, we could probably help each other a lot, and I'm sure jhower would be around (I love volunteering people). I don't have a welder... so.... that sucks.

                            Denver, 17517.

It would be pointless for you to stay, the only reason you would be is to help me the next day, and although that would be cool, it's definitely not needed and wouldn't warrant you spending $$$ on a hotel. Now if I could weld and we could put your new 1/4 panel on, that would be a different story. The guy I split the garage with has a welder, but it's not mine and I don't want to put it up for volunteer work. We can just chop the 1/4 panel off, chill for a little, and call it a day. One question though... how the heck are you gonna get it home?

I'm gonna fit it right inside the car :)

yeah, You are closer than CR's from where I live. Good stuff.

yeah, don't worry. I'll find a way. What I was planning on was taking out the pass. seat and rear seats. Since i wanted to keep the 2 panels together, it would make an L shape more or less. i can jsut fit it inside the car. Kind of creative, but if it works, then great. I have to take some measurements today and see just to make sure. If worse comes to worse. i may have to cut them into 2 pieces, but really really would rather them together. To me, it's worth the hassle.

                              should be fun.
