WTB: '87 is valence mounting stuff

i have an '87 is which looks like it was sent into a snowbank at some point and broke most of the mounts (not on the valence, the supports & whatnot). from what i've read this stuff is hard to come by, but i'll probably take whatever you have to get this valence back on straight.

Those mounts are NLA. You can drill 2 holes in the aluminum bumper and matching holes in the upper lip of the valance, and bolt it up. That, with 2 screws through the side tabs under the bumper surrounds will hold it in place fine. I attached one to my eta like that for probably 4 years.

thanks for the info, i know the mounts are nla, i was hoping to find someone with some '87is parts hanging out. your method sounds good (and cheap!), but i'm a bit confused 'bout the 2 screws, where are these side tabs, could you point me to a pic? TIA!

Don't have any pics right now.

But, if you look at one of the sides, lift the black plastic/rubber bumper surround a bit and look underneath. You'll see at the top/rear of the apron, there is a small rectangle part that slides up under the surround. If you drill a hole through this and the body, you can throw a small bolt or a screw in there to hold the back up.

Don't get me wrong, this is ghetto, but it holds it close to the bumper, there's no visible holes or screws, and it doesn't cost anything. And if you do it right, you can use the pre-drilled holes in the aluminum bumper from the fog lights (if applicable), this way you don't have to drill through that thick bumper.

I really really really doubt you'll find any mounts that are strong enough to hold a bumper up without cracking. Any that were produced years ago are brittle by now, and the reproduction ones that were available on ebay sold for so much, it wasn't worth it.
