These typically disintegrate when removing, as the coupe trim pieces are exceedingly thin (especially compared to the relatively thick plastic B pillar trim pieces for sedans). The right or passenger side is still available new from BMW (although $140). I bought an acceptable driver's side one on eBay (from Lebanon!) and it works. Another example of the lack of commitment from BMW for their classic car parts, especially trim pieces.

If they are available new, why would you complain?
There was a report in the Jordan's thread that one side of the new reproductions is made incorrectly.

I was complaining about the Driver's side trim piece, which is not available new. It took me months to find the one from Lebanon. I bought the passenger's side trim from the BMW dealer and it was of course in perfect condition.
Those things are so cheap and flimsy. Instead of buying new ones, I bought some black vinyl material off ebay with a similar texture. Just use contact cement and apply it to the B pillar. Looks better than new! I'll try to get a pic later.
