Take my name off the list if these are just cut out of sheets. I could buy my own material and make my own cheaper.

That's what it looks like to me which is why I'm backing out. If I'm going to hack up my door panels I want it to at least look decent, the basic sheet of carbon just isn't cutting it for me. The search continues for a more functional and better looking panel...'89 325is S50 Track Montser

Did you guys expect it to be something different? It's the equivalent of these;http://www.vmwerks.com/proddetail.as...nle30r&cat=110 but out of carbon. That ought to put it in perspective, $200 for aluminum ones or ~$120 for carbon ones. Although I'm not sure of the legality of the carbon ones for racing sanctioning bodies.sigpic

Guys, I was on vacation for a few days, without my laptop. Give me a day to catch up, and to talk to the factory again. I'll post an update tomorrow night or Tue. morning.
Thanks,

I think that's what you'll have to do, if you want the pad shown in the pic -- the factory just makes pre-cut sheets. This is not an issue for a track car, but for a street car, I understand why folks would want to maintain an OE look.
If I kept the black OE door panels from my track car, you are welcome to have them. It was an '85 CA car, so I'm not sure of their condition. In any case, I'll have to find them first. ;)

Folks, I know that several of you e-mailed the factory, and haven't gotten an answer. I tried contacting Mike (the owner) myself a number of times this week, but didn't get a response to either my e-mails or voice-mails.
It's a small shop, and I'm willing to make allowances that he could be on vacation, etc., but I'm getting a bit concerned.
Please PM me if you already made your payment. If you haven't, please hold off until I hear back from the factory.
Better be safe than sorry. I'll post an update as soon as everything is settled.

I just got a response.....looking at the factory panels, the top part is not a separate piece, so I would think that you would have to cut the leather from the original panel and then get it to attach to the carbon fiber panel...and look good....
"Chris,
Sorry for the late reply to this email, I've been away on holiday.
The padded cover on the e30 on the website has been added by the customer, I
believe it is part of the original door trim that has been refitted -
because this was a customers modification I'm not aware how this has been
attached.
Most people use our fitting kits to attach the carbon trims, which have
rubber inserts that sit in the door, allowing you to screw the stainless
steel nuts through the carbon into the rubber inserts. Its a removable
method and pretty neat, but some people do use rivets or adhesive.
I hope this helps.
Best regards, Mike"-Chris
