No. The OEM exhaust uses a flat 3 bolt flange.

    - Does anyone has a picture of the little spring's attached to headers ? if so, please post it. Asking becouse RD sourced those from ANSA back then, they are/were F40 units. He assures me he'll have some in a few days.
What function do they perform and are they essencial ?
    You talking about these springs?

As you can see from the picture, because the original headers had a doughnut style coupler that allows for some angular mis-alignment the flanges are held together tightly by the spring force.

I'm confused by this... weren't the original headers made completely from stainless steel?
Did they change the style of flange where the headers mate with the mid-section to a different type (i.e. 3 bolt flange)?

    Spoke with federico yesterday.

    - Header's are ready for shipment from Italy.

    - First batch of 5 is being air-freighted, expect them in SoCal by Wednesday June 14th, 2012.,

    1) fporro, paid.
    2) peerless, paid.
    3) SoCal323i, deposit received.
    4) Delatlanta, deposit received.
    5) whodwho, deposit received.

    - Remaining headers will be sea-freighted in, arrival time early July.
Wish I could fly them all in but freight cost does not allow it.

    - All units were spoken for, one refund was requested, I'll have to wait until next week to decide if I can afford to sell it at group buy price or place it on open market to balance air-freight expenses. Hope you guys can understand.
As per further orders, there's still remain a minimum of 5 units., but we should wait until next week to test and review first batch before placing further orders.

To facillitate pickup schedule, all headers will be stored at http://www.e30motorwerks.com as they are open 6 days a week (sun up to sun down) instead of at RD's shop.

    - Flanges were updated with steel ones.

    - Ceramic coating available through local SoCal shop, I'll know cost once a set is brought in and a quote received.
To those whom done it, what's the average cost and is there different coating techniques, etc ???

Ok guys, I thought I was the master of "grey zone talk" but I been bested. Lol.

    Sincerely,
    Frank.

    p.s. bring it on mohm-maah 'cus I brought my suits :p ...

Update: 9:07 am Hawaii time, just receive call from air freighter, it maight all come by air-freight, just need to confirm new quote.

there appeared to be a lot of interest in the past, and some people that did not give deposits. I am saying I have been wanting a set, watching the threads on 4 forums for months, and while I did not get on the list, if it is in any way possible to get a spot as one of the lucky few, I am willing to pay the full amount immediately. I also have interest in a valve cover.
