It is waterjetted, so it is smooth but not "perfect".
It is however, a soft material that easilly finished off if you wanted to sand it. Or you can torch the edge with a blow torch and it will give the same texture that is on top to the leading edge for a uniform look.
I have never had anyone say anything about the leading edge of the splitter. These are made on a CNC machine so they are about as good as it gets without spending hours on finishing the edge off perfectly...
