I had to replace my antenna wire from the head unit to antenna a year or so ago. From looking at RealOEM the E30 piece appeared to be NLA. The E36 wire was almost the same length but in a warehouse in Germany so it was 2+ weeks out, but the antenna wire for an E28 was available locally. It was about 2.5 feet longer, but I just looped it a few times and zip tied it out of the way in the trunk.

As you can see from the photo below the part number is 65221363589. Looking again in RealOEM is is also listed as a part for E30s.

Only the antenna wire was cut on mine so I removed a mile or so of small electrical tape and the other wiring and just ran the new antenna wire. Pretty easy job to run this along the driver's side rocker and into the trunk, you just need to remove a few trim pieces and slide the carpet back a bit, remove the rear seats, etc. Getting it up around the steering wheel area and into the center console/head unit area was a bit more tricky but still not too bad.

This is a good deal for it all new. I installed a junkyard Z3/318ti/E36 vert antenna in my E30 and the reception is great with not having to worry about a motorize antenna. It's very easy to fab up a simple bracket to really secure the new antenna base in as well.

I've had no affection. Radio works just the same.

I feel you, the PO of my car did the exact same thing, instead of just unplugging the cable he cut it. :(

Mine cut the cable behind the dash and used foil to join the cut end to a new 30 foot antenna lead to the trunk. All 30 feet of that lead were jammed into the dash.

I've since gotten one from a parts car.

And so as not to thread crap, I'd like to add that I'll be in on this soon. Gotta get my suspension in order first.

For some reason, Canada doesn't like UPS. Or vice versa. Let me see if I can find a more "friendly" carrier that will go north of the border.

US postal service is very friendly and easy, have had no problems at all in the past. Takes a few days longer to get the item but that's fine. And I don't get stung by UPS's ridiculous brokerage fees...
