Reinforced Shift Selector Rod aka DSSR

I've gotten a little interest on these.
There is a fair amount of labor in these so I thought I would do a Pre-Sale and see what happens.

    Pre-Sale ends March 1st
They will ship approximately one week after that.

All stainless steel. Fully TIG welded
    Comes with metric shoulder bolts
$100 shipped in US via USPS

    www.red46.net for details
    Requires pre-payment

I feel like this design would put unneeded pressure on the shifter bushing and shift lever bushing causing the feel to be very tight causing more physical effort to shift.

This is assuming that the body of the bolt you include doesn't bottom out on the nut welded to the rod. Is this the case or is the body of the bolt designed to bottom out on the nut before the bolt head puts pressure on the selector rod?

This is cool but I think you're gonna have to drop the price a bit to really compete with UUCs DSSR.

The shoulder bolt tightens up just short of putting any sideways pressure of the shifter or selector bushing.

They are priced at 130 plus shipping. I realize that $40ish of savings isn't enough for some people to pick mine over theirs.
But I also know that some people would like the extra money in their pocket and support the small guy making things with their own hands.
That is entirely up to you guys. But thanks for your input.

Can you make a video of you rowing the gears to see the effort it takes?
This is really nice and always wondered why nobody takes the time to do it - guess it's because labor as you mentioned.

Awesome deal on the fasteners then! I was hoping that was the case.

I'm all for supporting the small guy, plus the piece he's making has that raw hand-built awesomeness that other parts do not have!

I could but I have a short shifter so it wouldn't be a fair comparison.

Ya it works really well. Thanks
I like the raw, hand fabricated look but I know it's not for everyone.

Yes sir, you'll need to replace your selector joint with the 89+ version. Pn is on my website.

No I don't believe so. If I had the specs I'm sure I could make one.

I have a UUC SSK w/DSSR that I bought for my M20, and it bolted right up to my ZF 320 when I went S50 with no problems. Sure the throw isn't exactly right, but I've never had an issue while running it.

Hmm, so it sounds like the length is a little off.
