turtle wax is crap

the mothers clay kit is the best off the shelf. I've never seen it dull a car either.

mequires is ok, but the detailer doesn't lubricate as well and you only get one bar per kit. it also seems to stick to the paint easier.

If you are going to buy a clay bar kit, then buy the original-the blue bar from Clay Magic. I have used all of the off the shelf kits, and this has always been by far the best. I used to have to buy it at autobody supply shops for double the price-I am glad they finally started carrying it at places like Autozone a few years ago.

After you clay your car, you're supposed to wax/polish it.

The purpose of the clay is to remove old wax and imperfections in the paint.
