    Reiger lip replica = garbage

Who knows the name and contact information of the company that produced these for us?

I want my money back, fucking now.

I took one look at it the day it arrived, and decided it was junk then and there. I tossed it in my closet until today.

Upon closer inspection is is 100x junk. Fucking GARBAGE!

The little lip it is supposed to mount with hardware to is a joke, and 1 whole edge of that lip cracked clean off on mine because it was so fucking thin! The plastic they put into the mold was (quite seriously) paper thin on one whole side, with only the hardened foam coating to keep it in shape. Light actually passed through it with hardly any restriction. As soon as I tried to attach hardware the foam split and took that mounting lip off with it.

I have a lip that is completely fucking worthless now, and many hours spent with prep work. It took me about ~4 hours worth of sanding and reshaping to smooth out the fucking ocean on the face of it, not to mention all the craters caused by a shitty mold. That and the top of it had a hefty ridge from a mold seam. In the end I have a "super flexible lip" that is made null by the overly ridgid foam on the back of it. Even if it were to flex the plastic filler I had to use to smooth out the front face of it is going to crack off the first time it flexes!!

Lets not forget that the lip is also 1/4 in or so too short on one side, and it isn't even the right shape (has to be forced into the proper shape) that means any paint that goes on it will be stressed once mounted. Flexible lip + stressed paint = chipped cracking paint.

I want my money back. :tsk:

Either your reading and comprehension are completely non existant, or you just plain did not read the above post.,

I worked on my lip today, as well. I am far less concerned about a nice looking lip as I am a "functional" lip, but this pushing it. The lip for mounting is very thin, as Jordan mentioned, and it makes me very nervous. If I'm actually able to get it mounted to the car, I will be looking in rear-view mirror the first time I get anywhere near triple digits.

I have the real thing. 2 points to consider:

                A. Its overpriced.
                B. Its made of stiff ABS plastic with a VERY low tensile strength. First time you hit anything or scrape it hard it EXPLODES.

Jordan, and the rest who bought the lip, sorry to hear about the problems.

I would imagine that Greg would know more info, but there's guy that is always selling replica Rieger stuff (e.g.

URL snipped. DO NOT post that waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffless fiberglass shit knockoffs here

I'm not saying that what you bought is what's on eBay, but it's worth checking out.

it's only overpriced due to the damn exchange rate :(
When I bought mine it cost me less than $250 USD including the cost of the genuine splitter. No shipping costs either, boarded it on the plane :P

edit: i saw the lip and it did look difficult to mount strongly. If you're using it solely for function you could drill holes through the front of it and use heavy duty zip ties to hold it

Are you referring to me? I got mine years ago when the exchange rate was close to 1:1. As to where I got it - the Rieger Factory in Germany...
