i had a set of "rikon raptors" aka pos eco tire that i think discount tire or ntb sells, that came with the car. they were "ok" for dd's, but they didn't last long and a bit scary in the rain and/or on a descent turn. i got som yoko avid h4s 500 treadwear tires, and the performance was twice as good, and they lasted twice as long, even with the agressive neg. camber.
it's like everything else you buy for your car. if you invest in the better product, 1) safer, 2) better performance 3) looks better 4) last longer/more reliable.

Life is too short (and valuable) to run cheap tires.
I currently run Michelin Pilot Sport 2's on my e36 and Nokian WRG2's on my e30 IX.
My dad has fallen for the cheap tires in the past and got burned. He put a set of $99 each Kuhmo tires on a '99 540i Sport and they were loud as hell, cupped like crazy, and were butter slicks on rainy days. Most of the time, you get what you pay for.Comment
