Crack heads still steal head units.

I had my car parked right underneath my apartment window but that didn't matter. I woke up to see a hole busted in my window, my head unit stolen and all the plastic around it smashed up, my glove box open and ripped apart, I guess they were looking for a trunk release. They must have gotten annoyed that there was no trunk release but they proceeded to take a spark plug tool with a flat heat screwdriver end (they left it at the scene) and rip apart my trunk latch and steal everything out of my trunk.

Anti theft is not my #1 consideration when making any modification to my car.
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

Made me laugh. This stuff is so cheap these days, I'd figure you'd have to park on skid row to get a head unit stolen. Even so, are today's crack heads old enough to remember there was a time back when there was actual street value in a used, ripped-out head unit?

Twenty years ago, actual or attempted theft of my head unit was the frickin bane of my existence. It was so bad, around '87-'88, I should have gotten frequent flier miles with my installer, the glass shop and the tint guy. But I was hot shit with my in-dash CD players.

Well it was like 4 days before Christmas and I did leave my GPS out in plain site. Someone got an old GPS for Christmas! I think I'll stake out my car with an empty xbox 360 box this holiday season.

GPS is the new head unit as far as theft goes!
