Sorry the website doesnt show the a picture with the welded in cross bar and harness bar. The 360(non discounted price) is for the cross bar, AND Harness bar. The second picture doesnt show you what the welded harness bar with the welded cross bar AND Headrestraint bar. The link that Dan just showed you is what you get for 360. And I have the exact same bar dan has. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll give Rick a call tomorrow morning.Originally posted by CharlieMaybe it's just that their website is a little "off" on their descriptions, but:
This is what they consider their standard "race" roll bar, which I do not see a harness bar on at all.
This is what they consider the bar with the optional harness mount.
Saul, do you have the model with or without the "optional" pieces?

Just measured everything. The distance between the tip of the bar and the roof (headliner) is about 1 1/4 inch. The distance between the tip of the bar and the b-pillar is less than 2 inches.Originally posted by Brian 89 325iNIce bar. It doesnt sit that far back in a two door does it? Also, Anyone who has the bar in a two door, can you give rough estimates of how tight the bar is to the Roof, the B Pillar, etc. Thanks

You putting this up on any other boards such as bimmerforums or S14?
That'll probably get you a lot more bites than this board.

Put me down as "interested" depending on the shipping cost to 43016.
I'd toss this out on S14 & BF today to garner more interest, most of them seem to have more "cash in hand" than the average r3v member.

Put me in the same boat as Charlie. I'd like to know shipping to 32826. Also I think I might have missed something, what would be the final price with nondetachable harness bar and crossbar?Comment

I've already got a GB going there for the VSR bar. Pending pricing release.Originally posted by Saul325isS14 is next, then bimmerforums. I just want to get a "feel" to the interest.Originally posted by CharlieYou putting this up on any other boards such as bimmerforums or S14?

And if I may say so myself... Autopower isnt on "par" with VSR. Its a good budget bar I guess.
a 1.25" gap between top bar and headliner?!?!?!!?!?!?!? You know there is still about another 1.5" ABOVE the headliner to the metal roof right? Thats a pretty big crush zone. Hope you are all reallllllly short.

Sorry, my above message was a bit curt.
I dont really want to take this GB thread off-tack. So I'll be brief:
Kirk: Good bar, I'm not a huge fan of the lower mounting points on the main hoop. Also dont like how the horizontal bar and diagonal bar are not connected in an X, rather they are connected with a bar between the two. (3-4" gap between the 2 bars IIRC)
AP: Again, not a fan of the feet mounting points. But I'd take the kirk over AP. All of their products I've dealt with (E36, E30, 2002) have had bad fitment and left me thinking they were a bargain bar designed more for Auto-X harnesses.
VSR: I'll preface this as an honest statement... My father owns VSR. So I'm biased. However, I will admit when there are products that surpass ours. We designed the VSR bar to fit tightest to the B pillar, tight as possible to the roof while maintaining the headliner. Our bar is (again In My Opinion) the best Bolt In/ Weld In bar you can purchase for an e30. Going custom will obviously allow more tailoring to individual needs and an install more suited to your specific desires.
VSR also comes with the price... its not the cheapest bar. But I think the quality and fitment more than justify the price. I'm currently working on a GB for the VSR bar... I've got ~13 people interested at the moment.
If I couldnt run a VSR bar, I'd buy a Kirk, then Autopower.
Matt I see no value in your post? Once again, thank you for contributing nothing to a topical discussion. I was simply informing him that I've already got the GB going there, he is more than welcome to post his GB there and get interest too... its a free market economy.
Again, I'm biased, and thats just my $.02
Any more questions, discussions I'd be happy to answer in a specific thread in order to maintain the topical purchase of this thread for Autopower bars.
Thanks,
CLBelow the radar...Comment

Looking at the pics of the VSR bar, it's safe to say that the Autopower bar has similar fitment to the B-pillar, if not a bit better. From the pics on the floor mounting location, the Autopower mounts at the same location. What I can't tell from your pictures is the dimensions of the mounting plates.
The VSR bar does hug the headliner better than the Autopower bar and having the crossmembers as a single unit is a definate plus. (for pics on the Autopower fitment w/ the headliner, see my thread http://www.r3vlimited.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16715) However, after having a class or two in Engineering statics (informed, but not an expert by any means), I'm not exactly excited about the curve in the rear mounting tubes. It seems like a curve wouldn't transmit load evenly in the tube walls and buckle under load sooner.
For some reason Autopower designed the bar to be installed with or without the carpet removed, hence the gap between the bar and the headliner. I don't know why anyone would put carpet between the bar's feet and the car. Weird . . .San Diego BMW repair -> Jake @ www.littlecarshop.com Great guy :up:Comment

curved rear bar is no longer on the bar.
My father was ME who worked as a contractor for NASA and worked along with others to fix the Hubble among other projects. I know he took into account the bend when he designed the bar.
Needless to say, to apease customers, we will be removing that curve for "peace of mind"Below the radar...Comment
