Massive - brackets to fit a 16" Spal fan on e36/e46 rad

I will soon have brushed stainless steel brackets to mount a 16" Spal fan onto an e36 or e46 radiator for those of you who have swapped a 24v motor. It is only required to drill small 5mm holes on the top and bottom lips of the rad.

Currently experimenting with thickness of brackets. They will be available in two weeks with CNC pre-bent tabs and stainless steel fasteners.

Intro price is $50.00usd per set, including fasteners. Reg. price $75.00usd

    Thanks

    Lee

Guess what? You are the first to reply on this forum. Therefore I have a FREE set coming your way. Shipped this afternoon. These are the pre-production units. Just bend the ends in a vice. But hey, they are free and come with stickers. Just give me feedbacks after installing.

      Good weekend buddy.

Will they work with an m42 radiator?

Can you show us a pic mounted by any chance? I'm thinking about going to an e36/e46 rad just because they have more cooling capacity than my m42 rad.

I will have pictures of a 16" fan on an e46 rad this week end.

BTW VAC has a similarly simple system for the S14. I don't know if the pattern is the same as the M42 though. Price is around $120.00usd for bracketry.

Don't send any money until I actually start the next production. Which should be mid-week.

Dominic, you'll notice two notches. That's where to bend the tabs. If you run a thick radiator, the tabs should be toward the rear. If you run a shallow rad (OEM plastic e36), you can orientate the tabs toward the front, allowing the Spal fan to be close to the core. Therefore the brackets can be flipped depending on what rad is fitted.

I believe the e36 rad can accept a Spal fan as a pusher unit, in front.

I grabbed a bad e36 rad with plastic tanks this afternoon and will do more tests.
