Levent - thought you might like this, can't expound upon it for now.

Now I'm tempted to put them on my car.

As you can see, we make them for the E9 as well as most of the older models. Let us know if you do put on a set on a E9, there is an optional emblem based on which wing you are running - the flat trunk mount or the hoop. We also have full B-pillar emblem sets (unique to the E9) which include the correct size motorsport emblem & a new "target base".

        Thanks, Jack

I make a few unique parts (M-tech II lip spoiler, M-tech II grill/trunk emblems, motorsport emblems etc) that fit the needs of a very small group of enthusiasts (myself included) primarily for the E30. Guten has been my master distributor because of his longstanding relationship with the E30 community plus he's just an outstanding guy. He also provides incite & serves as a great sounding board. This provides feedback to us (as vendors) & helps the team, be better equipped to handle the needs of the E30 owners. By all means, feel free to purchase these emblems from Guten.

At times, there is crossover on a product & it will fit other chassis' as well as the E30 - valve covers as an example. Such is the case with the emblems - Paul, is the owner of Moosehead Engineering who you met at the Vintage. In this case, distributors have target markets & he services the e28 community while Levent is focused on the E30 owner. You would have seen several of the same items at Gutenfest a couple of weeks ago.

Just like websites, most boards focus on one type/model of car - it can be from Avanti's to Zcars.com & sub-categories in-between. We as E30 owners, are fortunate to have the lifeline that our vendors & distributors offer. Individually, most of them have day jobs to provide support & they do the E30 stuff at night & on the weekends. They all have the common traits of being E30 car crazy & committed. As a team they identify & bring to us rare NLA parts & updated technology for the 37 yr old E30. That will put a grin on your face whether you have a DD or a Sunday driver !!

          With an E30 grin,
          Jack

Just so you guys know, these yellow over time! I would recommend putting a plastic film over them.

We heard a couple of these comments at first. After surveying a number of buyers & getting their input, we put out a "care & maintaining" guide for the cloisonne. This seems to address the question you raised.

THE HOOD & TRUNK CLOISONNE EMBLEMS
"Because of the finishing process on the cloisonné emblem, the colored surface is like a combination of a colored glass surface & a painted surface. The cloisonné surface can be treated like enamel car paint, with no clear coat. This surface is usually left to “cure” for 4-8 weeks. Then a cleaner & a wax is applied in two steps, to produce luster & protection.

A similar two step process should be used to keep the cloisonné emblems in “as new” condition. The emblems leave here with a thin coat of PS21 wax. Please follow the cleaning instructions below & you will insure many years of enjoyment.

                  CARE & CLEANING
"Do not use any acidic or strong household liquid cleaner on them as you risk damaging the painted surface. If the emblems are soiled, (oxidation, water spots, bug residue) use a small amount of paint cleaner (by hand) like Meguiar’s Mother’s, or 3M Finesse It, on them to clean & bring back the luster. Brasso also works. When the cleaner step is complete, we recommend applying a coat of quality wax to them, to insure that they are protected from the elements. Doing this on a regular basis (monthly - quarterly) insures the surface is protected & they maintain their high luster. You probably have the cleaner & wax on hand from your car - this process only takes a few minutes."

Blaine, the plastic film idea may also be a good solution - kind of a "CBC" (cloisonne clear bra). Thanks for your input,

                  Jack
