i seem to be in the same boat. ive always had soot all over the back of my car but im not sure if its the chip or something else. the sssquid chips are such a great price that im tempted to try one. squidmaster ive noticed on the webpage that the intake manifold and flywheel weight are not listed as options as they are with the trm chips. im guessing those wont make that much of a difference in the tune to matter? id imagine most people with 24vs these days are running the obd1 manifold. also was wondering what the difference would be with the stage 1 to 3 chips.

The only thing that is changed for flywheel chips is the idle. It typically needs to get bumped slightly as the rotating mass is less.

Actually one of the first S52 OBD1 conversions I tuned had a LWFW (14lbs I believe). Generally I raise the idle just a tad to help with the lower rotational mass, as well as change up the fueling to compensate for the better flowing intake manifold.

I welcome people to PM or email me before-hand so that I can get something customized for your setup!

Stage 1 is for mostly stock cars
Stage 2 is for cars with upgraded internals (cams, cranks, pistons, etc)
Stage 3 is for full race applications where we can push it a bit further without having to worry much about daily driving. It includes more than one tune so that we can get everything just perfect.

I sell a lot of tunes to people coming from other tuners having problems. I don't feel that I should mention any specific companies though, not trying to start internet wars or anything :)

This is the gist of it. The elbows that came in were the wrong size. I ordered a bunch of 90mm ID elbows, and what came in were 84mm ID elbows. $250 worth. Trying to get the company to return them for the right thing but they've been completely unresponsive.

New intake piping on the way! Full kit should be available within two weeks!

Quick question here, I just finished my s50 swap and the engine I bought came with 540i 3.5" MAF housing and SSSquid Tune. I had Kamotors cold air intake set up which is 3". I used 3.5 to 3" adapter but I was wondering if smaller diameter intake won't kill the performance? My e30 is only used on track.

It will cause a point of low pressure passing through the HFMAF and may give you readings that aren't quite right. While I think the KAMotors Intake is a great design, I would recommend going with something that will match in diameter of the HFMAF.

Working on designing, testing, and tuning a custom intake filter setup at the moment, but it could be 2-4 months before it's released.
