So far with the M20 chip for 91 octane and factory injectors I'm in love with 7,000rpms and you can feel that the power has really smoothed out across the board, butt dyno is happy but my wallet is pissed.
After driving around for a week solid being as casual as possible I've only just barely hit 17mpg and i'm usually between 15.8 and 16.7 on the OBC.
I hit 17.1 last night after a 30 minute casual highway trip at about 75mph.
I'm doing 400 miles this weekend and i'm going to be pissed if I don't break 20mpg, I'd hate going back to the stock chip but $50 for 240 miles is just stupid.

you've got to pay to play. i'm at 200 miles now and it feels great. i can keep the m42 in higher gears for a longer time and it pulls strong and smooth. on behalf of all 318is owners, thank you mark d for making the new 93 octane chip for us. everyone go buy his shit!

anybody else have comments on their chips? (particularly m42 guys?)

I haven't been on here since June 29, so have not read through this 14 page thread yet. Yes I did have plans to make a chip that owuld work with a MAF directly, but for a few reasons it's not ready yet. I'll tell you why since many of you probably want to know:

        1) I was busy with a firmware contract and it went on longer than I expected. I had planned to wrap it up by January and I wrapped it up in April, mainly due to delays by the client.

        2) In February, I found a few instances of someone cloning some of my chips. I actually had a conversation via PM's with a guy on bimmerforums who had bought a cloned chip but he wouldn't say where or from who.
So I decided that no new really unique chips are being released till I have copy protection on those chips. This will cost me thousands to do, so I have not finished the copy protection, and so no MAF chip is available yet...

Sorry about that, hopefully it will be released early next year.

Chip sales really took a dive this year and then the USD to CAN exchange rate became very unfavourable.... 1 USD used to be 1.55 CAN and now it's closer to $1.10 CAN so that's the main reason for the price increase.

Thanks to all of you who bought a chip, I appreciate your business.

              Mark D,

You had a christmas sale last year I believe. Will you be doing this again? Also, In my area we only have 93 octain gas, would it be ok to use this with the ETA chip?

              thanks

I'll probably have a Christmas sale from Dec 1 to Dec 10. (so all chips can be shipped by Dec 12) The sale prices will be 10% off.

It's safe to use but not required. You may lose a slight bit of performance as 93 burns slower, but you may not as each motor is different.
