Link to the e30tech PPF GB (expired). Price for the modded stockers is too close IMO.

EDIT- The price for the MM arms is $45, considering that he probably buys them wholesale I wonder if his prep isn't closer to $30 per arm. Can't hurt to ask, but I wonder if he will prep arms bought elsewhere.

the price of the MM arms is actually $7 more than the group buy price. I vote for teh PPF arms myself. if the GB were to happen say next month there is a good chance I could be up for it but i'm not making any promises.

I asked Patrick @ BMA if he'd be willing to do a groupbuy. I figure we already know what the PPF units will cost.... lets figure out how much the BMA/MM method will cost.

Man, i feel bad for anyone who spent that much on their rockers... I guess the PPF units are rather new, so that would have been the only thing available for a while.

just wanted to say unless price is significantly different, its silly to use 2 vendors on this GB. GB's r a pita anyways...why make it harder?.
And judging from response here..... Id say this forum will not produce enuf interest.

Ok, I have GB prices from BMA. The total would come out to $177.60 for 12 arms. Assuming MM charges $20/arm, that would put the whole deal at $417/set. If we were to do this, I would volunteer to take shipment of the rocker arms from BMA (since i'm local), ship them to MM as a single 60-unit order, then ship them out to GB participants when I get them back. I'll see if I can get any info out of MM for this.

I think when you really take all things into consideration... most of us guys aren't going to build motors that rev over 7500rpm anyways. You can slap a huge cam in there, get the rockers, springs, valves, etc... but in the end, you still have 2v/cylinder and you'll hit diminishing returns very quickly. There's also something to be said for using OEM components.

..good point. Thanks again. See if MM can discount at all. I heard somewhere Febi was good or bad to use.....I cant find thread..but it mentioned Febi specifically. Is that what dealers sell?....is that what BMA has?

Ok, here's the deal. MM may be willing to discount up to 20% off for 5 buyers. In order to get the discount, you need to buy their rocker arms and their valve spring+retainer. He mentioned on the side that these units should work up to 7,800RPM. They might go higher, but its untested. If my math is right (12 rockers and 12 spring/retainer combos), that would put us right around $625 for the package.

We should not do the dual BMA/MM setup because not all rockers are created equal and out of an order of 60 rockers, only 30 might be suitable for the reinforcement process.

                          What do you guys think?

Are these OE-replacement valve springs, or stiffer ones? M20 heads are known to crack when stiff valve springs are fitted --- I would ask MM about any potential durability issues w/ the head casting itself, first.
