Hmm, at first I thought this was total spam.....but.

It looks like it's legit- though the seller is in Taiwan- maybe a GB is in order? Who else sells 'glass hoods for E30's and how much are they?

IE makes one as well, never seen one in person though to know how well it fits.

I'd like to see one painted and mounted, to see how good the fit and finish is compared to a stock hood. I'd love to get a lightweight hood but I don't like unpainted carbon fiber, and a CF hood that fits well enough to be painted is $$$.

That's where a GB could come in handy. IF you could get a bunch of folks together that were close enough to all pick them up from the same place, shipping 1 or 10 of these from Taiwan will be about the same cost. Dunno if it's worth it or not....guess it depends on how many you could get to pony up the $$$ and not make a bunch of broke-ass excuses when it came time to pay up....

Thats a pretty good weight. I have an oem style fiberglass hood for my 2002 that weighs about 15 pounds. it has all the mounting points and is not a shell, similar to this piece. If I had an engine swap in my e30, and it wasnt just a vert, I'd probably be all over this to even out the weight a little. $500 usd? Thats pretty darn good. I think for my 02 hood and trunklid was about 1250 or 1500 bucks...cant recall. Again, for my 02 the hood weight savings was about 25-30 pounds, afaik. Might be similar for the e30.

Just to put a price comparison out there, IE's fiberglass hood is $250.

that's for the race version, which requires hood pins and you'd basically never want to use it on a street car.
