Laser Jammers!!! ...errrr, I mean, laser parking assist
Totally weatherproof, and you can place it in the center kidneys as well (or even somewhere in your bumper). On the trial run we did with this system (on E36 M3's), both were installed on the top of the center opening of the bumper (where the license plate hangs down). Additionally, both have successfully jammed lasers multiple times.
The targets of aim are (in order), license plate, headlights, foglights, chrome grills. I placed mine where I did in case I decided to run a front plate again... (This way I know WHERE they would aim, and I could get the laser diode extra extra close, haha)

is this like new technology? cause i remember MythBusters said all that radar jamming was a myth.
would also hate to buy this and then the police make something to beat around it in the future then all you have is a $500 paper weight. if i had extra cash i would probably be in.

It is not new technology... Lidatek has been making Laser Jammers for years...
In the mythbusters test, they tried beating lidar with LED's...
The LPP system also has an LED, which apparently is much stronger than the one used by mythbusters. Think about it... how much research did mythbusters put into this experiment? not much. On the other hand, the total engineering nerds that designed the LPP were able to make it beat Lidar Guns.
If you do a search on R3V for "laser pro park" and you will see the units tested against eachother... And since THEN, the LPP has been revised to perform better on the one test it did poorly on.
Oh ya, did I mention I will be getting a lidar gun if we can get a group buy of 10 guys? ;)

Well also keep in mind that the Discovery Channel does not want to be responsible for teaching people how to break the law. I remember a few years back when G4 (formerly Tech TV) used to do experiements like that and many of their demonstrations teetered right on the line of legality... well no- They actually CROSSED the line several times when discussing radar and laser detection.
Even though its a constant struggle of "one-upmanship" when it comes to speeding enforcement I still believe that one method that can never be defeated is being clocked.
