Hey Luke -
It would help to see a shot in-thread (yup, I'm lazy) of what this would involve to run vs. what equip needs to be ditched / modified.
In my case, I still have my ski tunnel uncut (if I even have a punch-out, M3?) - and I have a tower bar.
Another thought - I'm 99.9% sure they are the same, but are E30M3 decks different in any real appreciable manner? I'm pretty sure its just the cosmetics of the bonded rear window frame that is different, and the deck panels in the cabin.
Can we get some rough dimensions - or did I miss them already?
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.Comment

Linus, the M3 rear deck is longer (front to back) to accommodate the rear window angle. If you look, it has an added section just for that reason.
The strut brace is a bitch, though. Send me a pic of the damn thing, would you?
I will be doing my GF's '89 tomorrow (12/17), so pics should be up then.

Hey Luke it seems like you got a good thing going here. After pulling out of debt and so on i can finally afford to get a substage. Would it be possible if you could make a smaller box .7 - .8 ft^3 (internal) and tuned between 32-34hz? I have no tools and and no time to make my own and i have a little dayton HO just waiting for that box.
Didnt put this in Pm's for the bump :)Comment

Send me specs on the Dayton...see what I can do. I am sure it will be no biggie.
On to other news, my installer/slave is sick today, so no buildie boxie thingie.
Dammit! I am instead working on a '99 Grand Am alarm...what a PITA!

Luke,
Here is an idea - what if you can provide "pre-engineered" enclosures for people that were ready to be assembled by people with some skillz at screwing things? You could do the design and cutting according to a person's particular driver, then ship them the pieces and they put it together. Sort of like those kits you buy for the pre-fab furniture. Then you would only have to subcontract out to someone in a third-world country to put together some poorly written assembly instructions that we won't read anyway. Would that be of use to anyone? It may not be less weight but easier to ship and if they could do the work for the ports they possibly could do the box assembly too. Anyway - figured I would throw that out there...Comment

I love how the one guy says it hit harder than his HX2 Fosgates. His Fosgates are likely the #1 most misunderstood woofer in the world. The 10's really come alive using about 3 cubic feet each...maybe as small as 2.2 cubic...but he is talking about .6 cubic feet each...shit, no wonder he replaced them!
Those Daytons do look like a wonderful woofer. Nice to see a 2.5" voice coil, would have been great to see the VC former be aluminum too.
pics soon, guys!

I also heard that this subwoofer would like a larger size enclosure from a guy who ran the specs with winsid i think. But i heard this woofer in about a slightly smaller than a cubic foot ported enclosure, tuned low, in a trunk car and i liked how it blended with the mids pretty well.
Yeah, definitely don't want it sealed. Unfortunately, some of those reviews come from some pretty misguided people :) Thanks for taking a look Luke.Comment

Put me down for one, upholstered in OEM carpet. Jordan was helping me put together a system awhile back and he helped me decide on the DLS UP6 6.5" 2-ways and tweeters. I'll take your advice on the Walmart Sony sub. My question to you is will that Sony amp be able to power everything?
As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.Comment

Stereoinstaller. Kudos for putting this together. As an ex car stereo installer and still a principal in a local car stereo shop it should be said that not only is this a great price, but a great offering. Jump aboard guys!!!!
I sent you a pm as well.
