    C3 Motorsport Coilovers

It's that time of year again. I've been debating on whether or not to do another coilover group buy and I've decided to move forward. A lot of you are familiar with the set up by now, if not, please feel free to ask any specific questions you may have. Spring rates are your choice, however if you need help on deciding what rates to run I will be more than happy to help out.

    Regular Price: $1649.95
Group Buy Price: $1500 + tax Savings of $162.32 when you figure tax
Shipping: Depends on location. Will deliver within a reasonable distance for free (~50 miles). Shipping to west coast will be around $30, and $45 to the east coast.
Tax will be added for those in California (sorry, have no choice on this)

    What you get:

1 Pair of Vorshlag Camber/Caster plates
1 Pair of Koni Racing adjustable inserts for the front
1 Pair of top adjustable rear shocks for rates up to 850#/in (over 850# will need upgraded shocks for $150 more)
1 Set of Eibach Race Springs (Linear rate) in rates that you choose, or you can use the standard 450# fronts and 750# rears
1 Pair of TC Kline rear street buna rubber shock mounts
1 set of threaded adjusters and sleeves
All weld-on hardware and included are M3 swaybar mounting points for non-M3 cars.
1 Pair of insert spacers for insert positioning
Great customer service with plenty of support after the sale and a :).

**Strut modification is available if you cannot perform this yourself. Standard modification is $100 and the struts can be shortened for an additional $100, struts must be provided without wheel bearing/hub for work**

For a review by one of our local customers, check here (please bear in mind the kit has received improvements since this review):

We need 10 buyers to complete this group buy. I would like to end the GB on June 15th if possible and ship the kits before the end of June.

This list will be updated as the buy progresses:

I'm new here...saw this on Bimmerforums.

This seems to be a great deal, but I have a question.

Are the plates truly camber and castor adjustable? From the pics I can't see how castor can be adjusted???

Are the plates top or bottom mount?
    Suspension tips here...

Um, O.K., but the site doesn't answer my questions either.
Do you have to slot the towers to adjust castor? I don't see how they go front to back.

The camber plates are slotted to accommodate a moderate amount of caster adjustment. Unfortunately, the washers on the studs are covering the slots. View this pic:

If you look at the stud on the far left, you can see the slot peeking out from just under the washer. They are also bottom mount plates that replace the stock bearings.

Can you offer any kind of a core swap for the front housings? Say I buy a kit, ready to mount. Then send you my old housings? I don't feel comfortable welding things on my housings, unless you can include some precise directions, on where the sway bar tab should be, and where the threaded collar should be. Then I might feel better.

Directions are included with the kit and is very easy to follow. It's hard to mess up.

Hey Slyder put me down for a kit, I talked to Erik, and I think that C3s are what I'm going for...I will be in SJ first week of June, will meet up or call to discuss spring rate for my ride.

[I'd like to reserve a spot on the list, 90% going with C3, but a close friend deals in D2s, and is trying to get me to get a set of those...It'll be Erik's advice that sways me either way though]

                  Cheers

                        Mike,

Yes, I can do a core exchange. I presently have 2 available. 1 set of shortened housings and one standard length. The core charge will be an additional $150 for the struts which will be refunded upon receipt of your struts in usable condition (i.e. not damaged or bent).

If you'd prefer to do the modifications yourself, there are full instructions included with the kit to include step-by-step photos, diagrams and measurements.

                        DSP74 & rwh11385,

Give me a day or two on this one and I'll see what I can work up for you. Which inserts are you looking for? I have the inserts from the kit (good up to 750#), standard short-bodies for use with no higher than 450# springs, and also regular e30 and e30 M3 inserts. Once I know which of these you're looking for I can provide you with a price. Thanks!

Would you say those rates are good for city streets? I like a stiff car, but I live in the DC metro area and the potholes can be abundant! Poor road repairs are easy to come by too. I wish I remembered what rates my H+R c/o's had.... Count me in eather way.

                            Mike,

The 450/750 set up works very well for the street. I have a number of customers here in the SF Bay Area running those rates (I used to as well) for both daily driving with track duty as well. Haven't had any complaints and our roads are probably some of the worst in the country (CA likes to repave about once every 20 years...). The only thing you would need to worry about with potholes is how low you set the car. If you decide to go very low, I would recommend a skid plate, but then again I wouldn't go super low without raising the rates anyway.

Currently, I'm running 500/950 on my car with the upgraded shocks, stock 325is sways using the M3 front links. I also drive my car almost daily as I find it's more comfortable for me than my Tacoma X-Runner. It's pretty stiff...but no where near as harsh as my truck IMO. It's not always how stiff the springs are, but rather that the shock valving is appropriate for the rates you're running.

Thanks for your support on the GB!
