Its a brace that will help support the plate when the plate is hit repeatedly. Yes there should be clearance between the plate and the pan. if not the plate will just transfer to pan.:(Custom Made Skid Plates For Sale.

what are you guys doing to break your skid plate? way way too low to the ground from having your car sit too low for DDing? Racing a slammed car... typically people in cars that can clearly be a low rider (unless your roads are smooth as a pool table) roll really really slowI can run Auto Checks on VINs for tips/donations:
