Trunk storage bin's for sale (New product)

Awhile back on eBay I saw an OEM trunk storage bin go for $94. These bins were very rare OEM aftermarket pieces that fit on top of the battery tray and provided some extra space.

While, since the auction, I have not been able to find one...so I made my own.

Here are some pictures. I'm going to list one on eBay and then base my price on the interest. Material is ABS plastic. Installation requires drilling 4 small holes in the battery tray. Let me know what you think.

      Must get trunk net...

That was the only issue I had with the trunk.

Interesting trunk storage, I might actually get one, I need something to hold my jumps. ;)

If my car had a battery tray I'd probably get one.

it needs a rubber or foam gasket along the top like the stock storage tray. :)

looks very deep. but don't fill it up too much, that little plastic clip that holds the other side up probably isn't going to hold much weight ;)

looks good though, very different and will probably gather some interest.

                      Listed on eBay:

Price will be based on how the auction does.

The cargo net is from an E38 7 series. Normally, it would attach to the floor of the trunk at all four corners. The net would hold cargo against the floor. However I mounted mine like I did as it gave me more options. The way I have it, you can open the trunk, pile in a load, and then clip the net to the back of the trunk so the load is held tight against the rear of the trunk.

Or, when I have something of small-medium size, I just throw it in the middle of the net. The middle section then sinks down and the trunk lid keeps it from moving around.

Does anyone have pictures of the stock bin storage piece? Does it really have a gasket?

While I do not recommend placing a 50lb weight in the storage bin, it should hold some basic stuff pretty easily. Matter of fact, I think the stock bin just kind of snapped into place along the battery tray. If that is true, I would think my piece would be stronger then the stock piece since mine bolts in. We will see...

We've ordered plenty of the factory ones recently....
I do like your idea better though. using the factory one it's a major PITA to get the battery cover off.
