Probably wouldn't be structurally sound afterward but I think there are long term care facilities for brain-dead assholes...

did you mean the car with no seats, no equipment, no subframes, no suspension, no wheels, no powertrain? Did you mean just the weight of the chassis?Comment

I would really think a group buy on all three braces. This one, the front strut tower and the lower brace is a good idea. Any chance of this in the near future?Comment

Any confounds in stiffening up the front of a Cabriolet via the X-Brace+ the stronger strut brace when the rear of the car remains soft?? Don't want to introduce any suspension wonkiness into my 93 E30 Cabrio. Front stiff laterally, rear soft laterally create odd suspension dynamics??? The Cabrios badly need more rear stiffness: get genius-assically busy!Comment

... in other words e30 convertible owners would really appreciate anything to stiffen the rear of the body.
I know that the top cover/tray gets in the way of any kind of bar which would go back there, but I really wouldn't mind doing some slotting/cutting if a template was provided or available for download.

Hmmm...
Here is the skinny on IC rear chassis.
To make a bolt in rear brace and make it function is a class A engineering nightmare. Just no room to work in.
It is not so much the shock mounts causing the compliance in the area we are bracing in the coupes and sedans but the chassis twisting around the rear of the Monococque (at the bulkhead) from the sub-frame.
This compliance presents very differently in the ICs and in reality isn't as much of a problem.
The ICs do suffer more in the front than the coupes and sedans even though there is a gusset at the strut tower and additional support inside of the fenders from the factory.Comment

Thanks for the reply DC. I'm still wondering if you introduce eccentric suspension factors if the cross-bracing front and rear is quite different. I'm about ready to order braces from you, but concerned I'll introduce more oversteer with a less-stiff tail-end. Sorry, I'm no engineer and can't imagine a better way to explain it. My tuning experience with E30s shows good response that by running a stiff front sway and a small rear or no rear sway and adequate front negative camber you can get close to neutral handling-wise. Can this be true with bracing also??Comment
