Luke if you need an E46 we can probably work out something for measurements, don't recall if the m3 has anything different.

      Luke,

I have been following this thread (the old one) for a while. I may PM you with some pics and measurements from my current setup. I have a large box now (holding 10" orion sub 15 yr old) that is ported into the rear deck. It is large and cannot get the spare out with it in the car (also over 15 years old now and speaker sounding crappy). Will the box made so the the rear zen brace can be installed be ported into the upper deck? (also wanted to mount the amp to it-old ADS PQ15) I wanted to reclaim some more trunk room and be able to add the brace to my S52 setup now. I'll PM you some pics for your suggestions.

We will be ready to ship 3 v1 or v2 boxes next tuesday.

I will have the paypal setup and working by then.

Dave, I think you should use the ported 10 box I am making on the IDMAX 10 you already have. It will play really low, but definately NOT an SPL box...you is a SQ guy anyway, so that doesn't matter.

I'll call tomorrow, but I was under the impression that it would not fit. We shall chat.

Dave: I spoke with an engineer at Image Dynamics yesterday for about an hour. We worked out a box design that will work for5 your woofer, using 1.9 cubic feet.

this means of you measure from the rear seat back, 12" will be the final depth of your box...no issues at all getting the spare out, no worries.

Zen box guys: I have a car (drivenovertheedge, but spelled more gooder), local to the woodshop, that already has the brace mounted. I am gonna spend some quality time in the trunk to see what sort of stuff has to be done to make this work.

More news next week on that one.

            E46, E34, E36, etc...2 more weeks until any news...but the E28 guys are first.

Anyone need a baur box? Sealed 10, tiny, gonna do 1 for sure, seems a waste to do only 1.

The big winner is the ported 10 box. By using 2 elbows, I can do 2) 3" ports or 2) 2" ports and the woofer, all firing through the ski hole...NO cutting of car needed!

Get this...go grab a tape measure, lay it on the floor of the car from the seat to the back. measure 10"...that is the box depth. Damn near like having nothing back there, it uses so little space. maybe JParker could post a shot of what we have going there, since he has the prototype in his trunk right now...

            news soon, guys, soon.

I answered you back, too....you didn't get it?

Guys, let me make one thing clear right now: The Zen box will sound like shit compared to what is normally expected from these boxes.

The woofer will be expensive, too.

Youse guys who want to have some bass in a lightweight setup that fits behind a frame brace will just have to content yourself with the whole "performance first" thing going out the window...on the other hand, you will have the best sounding stereo in the track...

                      Don't sugarcoat it, Luke!

I have about 30 questions, but I'm just gonna wait and see what materializes. About all I'm sure of is I want a box for a 10" sub, and I have a sedan that I take to the track once in a while.

What I meant by ETA was : estimated time of arrival?
