Just wanted to post my recent experience regarding a transaction with Bubbajan21.
I posted a WTB thread, looking for a set of chrome, euro bumpers. I ended up getting a PM from Bubbajan21 a few days later saying he had a set. He sent me a bunch of pictures and I agreed to buy them.
Along with the pictures, I was given a brief description of the bumpers stating, "the chrome is kinda dull" and "very very straight, no rust." OK, I can deal with dull chrome, no big deal.
Well, the bumpers arrive a few days later (super fast shipping BTW), I open the package, and unwrap them. What I found was not dull chrome. Someone took a die grinder to these things and totally destroyed the finish, far beyond saving with a buffer and some polish. In some areas, the copper under plating could be seen. At this point, I am pretty pissed off.
I go on to unwrap the rear bumper pieces, and 2 of the 3 pieces have pretty significant surface rust on the insides. Definitely not rust free. This part doesn't bother me nearly as much as the chrome though...
After cooling off for a day, I decide to send him a PM describing my disappointment in the condition of the bumpers. Much to my surprise, I didn't receive a reply.
The communication up to this point had been excellent...
So, I was really looking forward to putting chrome bumpers on my car. After receiving these, there is no way that's going to happen. Painting them will be the easiest route, unless I sell them, most likely at a loss. I mean, who wants euro bumpers with destroyed chrome plating?? It would be nice to have them replated, but that is not exactly cheap, I could probably get a new set from ECS for the cost of plating.
On a good note, the transaction went very smoothly, excellent communication, fast shipping, and the parts were safely packaged. I was just disappointed at what I received. Take it for what it's worth.-Justin
