I'd be pissed if seller agreed to use FedEx and then shipped it greyhound instead. FedEx has tracking and insurance and delivers to your door.sigpic

In the OP's defense, The valance may (see: maybe) have had to modify plans and ship via ParcelXpress because FedEx determined the item was oversized and outside of the maximum dimensions.Comment

Buyer 1 Seller 0 :-)(lawyer hat: ON)
Hmm, sounds like OP may be at fault in this situation. regardless of circumstance, no one should EVER wait a MONTH for a paid for part to arrive WITHOUT ANY CONTACT. OP, you will have a hard time justifying that one, sorry.
(to the OP) if you even had a slightest inkling that you would not be able to converse with the buyer after payment, that is the FIRST thing you should have said.
Also, if there was an agreement to send via FedEx, it should have gone through FedEx. The buyer pays for the shipping, therefore he gets the shipping he wants, not what the seller wants to shave a couple bucks.FEEDBACK:

If the seller agreed to send it via FEDEX, it should have been done so and a tracking number sent via PM or TEXT the day it went out, so all this BS would not happen.
The seller should have explored the cost of shipping via FedEx prior to agreeing to sell it
to the buyer and make sure the price adjustment makes sense for both parties.
Switching to Greyhound without the buyers agreement on it is BS.
I have shipped many bumpers, seats, diffs, and entire Mtech2 kits to the east coast via FEDEX with no issues.
The Buyer is in the right on this one.Comment

Personally, I have undercharged shipping before. However, if it happens, I stick to my end and eat the extra cost.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

^ it is way easier to just eat cost than making a stink about it.
I have done that more times than I can count on my hands.Comment

This
I shipped some e34 brakes assuming they were only going to cost about $45. Soon as I took the brakes off I realized how heavy they were. The buyer wanted UPS and not USPS. Buyer paid $120 including shipping. The cost to ship ended up being $90. I ate that and shipped it anyway. That's being a good seller.
