    PartsGeek Warning

Tried to order a BOSAL exhaust yesterday form Parts Geek.com
I order 5 parts total (muffler, exhaust flanges, and gaskets all Bosal)
I was sent a confirmation email stating the order was placed and another stating the credit card was charged.
A third email came and stated:

"With much regret, we must inform you that the part you ordered is out of stock at the present time and your order has been canceled. The usual estimate on backordered parts to become available is 1-2 weeks. Unfortunately, we currently do not have an out of stock notification system in place, so we ask you to contact us @ 1-800-541-9352 to check availability after 1 week has passed.
In the meantime, we have refunded you in full for the out of stock part. You should see the credit post to your credit or debit card in 3-4 business days."

My problem.. What fricken part? - They don't tell you! Plus I am not sure whether they are cancelling the entire order or just the one out of stock part!
Ok - so I called the 1-800 number - after being dropped by the automated calling service several times (yes dropped) I finally kept pushing 1 for sales and waited 30 minutes for no answer on hold.. So I gave up...
There website FAQS state they do not cancel orders upon your request and they will charge you a restocking fee of 15% if you do not accept the item,
Do not - I repeat do not trust these morons - even if you have been successful before - if something is backstocked - you cannot get a hold of anybody..
I'm screwed - cause now I hve to wait to order exhaust parts to find out what the hell is happening..

PartsGeek is bad business with no customer service.

Prices looked nice and I have a friend that used them..

Also someone recommended them on Bimmerforums..

      So I took a chance..

Now I am going to tell everyone I can that they suck.

well I just ordered a bunch of stuff and it came through great. Cant you just check with your bank how much money you receive and figure it out from there? Obviously no excuse for their bad customer service but it could solve your problem.

i'd go with rockauto over them if you're shopping in "that kind of online store"
i've had good experience with them.

I understand as long as they had the part everything can go smoothly..

Unfortunately customer service is something you need when a backoder happens, a mix up, damage to your product or something else goes wrong.

For this, a phone call to Visa puts the screws to them. Only had to do it a few times.
              but it works great.

I've ordered from them before, little things that they couldn't mess up. Wasn't wowed really, my friend on the other hand ordered parts; moved, so change of address. They quickly cancelled it due to not being the same address as billings. Understandable and all but they lost two customers.
