Seller had a Buy it Now TCD Turbo Kit on Ebay, I bought the buy it now price and sent payment through PayPal within minutes. I was contacting him to coordinate pickup when he told me more people were stopping by to see it that evening. This was around 5 hours after payment was sent. No further contact from seller for 24 hrs until he finally responded it was sold, to one of the people who looked at it after I had already won the auction and paid for the item. No refund of payment was sent and I have just started to process it through EBay's resolution center to have my money returned, which still has not happened yet.

I had similar problem and was ripped off by ebay/paypal. I bought the the part on ebay and seller was local but I did not notice that until I made paypal payment.
Then I arranged the pickup with the seller and after so much run around and he moving from that address. I opened paypal claim. His counter argument was that we live close by and that I picked up the item. Ebay/Paypal then sided with the seller and their reason was that there was no reason for me to pay the item with paypal if I was to pick the item up locally.
Good thing that you got email were seller said he sold it to someone other than you. That is enough proof if it was email.

First you need to read how ebay works.. second I need $800 refunded.. third I paid after I did your buy it now price so you had my money within 5 minutes of me purchasing your ebay posting. You never mentioned someone else coming to look until hours after you had my money. I have all this in our ebay convo saved as proof with time stamps..
