These guys have been supplying BMW parts for years and still cannot figure out how supply chains and inventory managment works. They NEVER have shit in stock, and it always takes 3 to 5 times longer to actually get the product then they say. Seriously, WTF? This has been their pattern year after year. If you are running low on sway bars or urethane bushings or mufflers or blinker fluid, HAVE MORE MADE BEFORE YOU SELL OUT. Is Jeff retarded? Seriously, I mean is he genuinely retarded, or does he just not give 2 shits about customer service. Fuck.

Funny, I've never had any issues with them. Been there in person a few times too.

Best rant of 2006. Thank you but we won't be needing any more entries for the rest of the year.

All over the place people complain about delays for springs and such, IE knows that they sell out quickly, maybe they can only get so many shipments from Eibach, etc?

I dont know about car parts, but some companies do not let stores stock their inventory. One thing that used to happen (not so much now) when I bought ELO CRT Touchscreens for work, EVERY SINGLE STORE was out of stock. I asked a couple managers what the deal was and I was told they were not allowed to stock them, they had to order from ELO then drop ship to me. Thats why I ended up getting them on ebay a lot because I could get a quicker ship time.

He stays in business because he sells high-quality, well-priced hi-perf parts for older BMWs. I have/do/will always put up with their shipping/shortages because its always worth it when you open the box and install. The majority of people agree, hence why he's still in business. Plus he's a race team turned business as i understand it, his parts speak for themselves. Who orders performance parts under a tight schedule anyways (besides race teams)?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

The shit he is out of is always IE specific stuff - hollow sway bars, subframe bushings, springs, etc. I understand that he is a small shop, but the wait time on his stuff is really bad. Seriously, it isn't rocket science to keep stuff on the shelves. I have 20 25mm hollow sway bars on the shelf. Oops, now I have 3 left. Better order the tube stock and have it bent and powdercoated in the next 2 weeks because history has shown that I typically sell 1 every 2 weeks or so.
no, instead its 'we ran out. the new bars are getting bent tomorrow and they should be at the powdercoaters next monday and shipped mid next week. that was 2 weeks ago, and they might now have the stuff ready to ship the middle of NEXT week, 3 weeks late.
i'm in a hurry becasue i want to mount the new bar to my subframe before i reinstall it. i'm out of patience because this has happened numerous times with ireland over the last 7 years i've been buying parts from him. i'm a loyal customer, just a pissed off and mystified one.

A lot of places are like that though.

VSR took 3 months to get me my roll bar because they were out of stock.

If they manage to do business... whatever I guess. Any company that has terrible service can expect me not to do business with them again.

This kind of crap from a retail place always blows my mind. Its one thing to cut just another guy on the boards some slack shipping parts, but if your a company, you gotta be on the ball. Simple business sense. Customers shouldnt just be like, oh I guess hes a good guy Ill cut him some slack. No fucking way, if Im paying retail, I expect my shit now.

As a 25 year veteran of retail, I can tell you that supply is the second toughest thing there is.

The toughest thing there is? Employees.

I have two teenage boys at home. I can't get them to call or text me to tell me we are running low on milk.

Rule #1 (for those who knows, this is #1 of Lukes Laws)
Blame the management. If everything goes well, great, blame the management. If all is hell, everyone bitching, problems everywhere, blame the mangement.

Personally, having spoken with Jeff only a couple of times...he seems like a great guy. I think he needs to hire a manager to blame!

I've bought lots of things from them (schrick cam, AFPR, subframe bushings, trailing arm bushings, CAB, SS lines, etc. etc.) and it's never been a problem.. guess I'm just lucky?

They must do well without "customer service".... So that would make me think that the current ownership isn't really concerned with pleasing every customer.

If it's not possible to order some products from other suppliers, than I guess they have a bit of a reason to be lax.
