To begin - this was my original sale thread:

The PMs after he had recieved it (I had shipped it out the 29th and it arrived ~2pm May 1st):

I just got the wheel in today and the horn doesn't work. I tried everything to make it work and honestly I just would like to get my money because I can't pass inspection with this wheel. So if you could please reinverse(sp) me for the $45 to my paypal

    thank you.

Can I see a picture of the steering wheel and how you installed it? I tested this wheel before I shipped it out on my car and it was confirmed working, I wouldn't sell a defective item - but I'll be more than happy to return your money if you can provide evidence of this malfunction and a picture of your install, because there is almost no way that the horn on these stock wheels can malfunction due to their design.

    Thanks,
    Pac0

I sure can. the actual round plastic piece that comes off is the malfunction. When everything is hooked up and you go to press the horn down, nothing happens. ill get the pictures to show you. trust me if it worked I would love to keep it rather than my beat up wheel I had.

    First pic:

-Thats when I had installed in with that clip, pressed it down and nothing happened.

    Second pic:

-Moved it down to the bottom clip and same thing, nothing happened. I press it down while car is both times and nothing

    Third pic:

-This piece is touching the metal and while the car is on the horn works BUT its not connected to the actual circle "bmw" piece. And I'm not gonna drive around with the wheel not fully assembled and have to tap the metal piece just to make the horn work.

So there is something defected in the round "bmw" piece that snaps to the wheel. Whenever you refund me , could you please just send me a PM you did so.

    thank you

    Steven
Ah, there's your problem Steven - You see, the wire you're currently hooking up is the grounding wire, notice that you only have one wire connected to one of the "terminals" - I had this issue when I first tried installing the steering wheel a while back - the reason your horn isn't working is because the wire you connected right now is the POSITIVE wire (note the + next to the wire that comes out of the wheel), all you need to do is grab another wire that'll hook up to the OTHER terminal (the one that wasn't occupied - it will touch the metal ring in the steering wheel and GROUND the connection, thus causing your horn to go off - if you don't believe me, try it with a paper clip.

Sorry I didn't mention this beforehand, especially since I had the same issue before - thankfully it's a $.25 cent fix.
yea I would just like to get my money back. im not trying to be an ass about it. Im just being inpatient with this wheel...and with the money I get back, ill just search for an mtech wheel.
So it is my fault that I sold the wheel pictured in the first link in the exact same condition, but now I have to accommodate for the buyer's impatience and "buyer's remorse" after realizing he wants and M-Tech wheel? On top of that I have to refund him what I paid for shipping? ($16.xx) and take a loss due to this?

This is what caused me to post this thread:

oh ok. lets see what you said before my friend. you didn't state everything in your original post.

If I don't get my money back by the end of the day today, I will file a report through paypal. I've been honest with you and i've done everything you told me to do and for some reason it seems you dont believe me.

"but I'll be more than happy to return your money if you can provide evidence of this malfunction and a picture of your install, because there is almost no way that the horn on these stock wheels can malfunction due to their design."

-as stated by you, you would refund my money if I showed you the malfunction. Then you stated..

" Sorry I didn't mention this beforehand, especially since I had the same issue before - thankfully it's a $.25 cent fix."

    - I took the step to go buy a "wire" to "fix" the problem but it didnt and as I told you before there is a malfunction within "bmw" piece. You did not mention that before.
Now, I want to put this on the community - what would you do? I'm not against refunding his money, I just think that he bought my wheel, had a case of buyer's remorse, and wants to get the money back without even saying anything about shipping the wheel back to me.

I don't want anyone to think that sirsteezo is a bad buyer or anything of that sort - he paid me quickly after he PMed me, and the transaction process of this deal went through flawlessly, it's what happened after that I want to bring to attention. This isn't me trying to bash him or anything - I just want the community's opinion on the issue.

    Thanks for your time,
    Pac0

you already said you would refund me the money. you never said anything about wanting the wheel back in your previous posts. if you want it back then ill send it back.

I just want my money back for a non working item.

and just for the record, you didn't have to make our business everybody else's.

Why not just make the horn work? Its kinda common sense that if the money is returned so is the item..

i think the buyer is grasping at straws so to speak. he thought he was getting a tech1 wheel and is coming up with random excuses to get his money back. and yes moron (sirsleezy or whatever the f your name is) you send back the product when you request to get your money back. horns on these cars rarely go bad.so either your install technique needs some help or you shouldnt be driving/working on cars.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong but that horn button needs 2 wires coming off of it. One to ground and the other to the horn wiring.

its sirsteezo. I already knew it wasn't a mtech wheel. I know what those look like. How am I coming up with excuses to get my money back? I stated that I hooked up another wire to the (negative) and it still doesnt work. Im not that dumb to where I just snap the one (positive) wire in and think it will work. There is a malfunction (as I stated before) within the bmw piece.

I guess my install technique needs some help then because I found a malfunction with the wheel. or maybe your reading skills need a little practice. I dont know, you tell me shmukngbmw.

                  This makes my head hurt.
It's a good Idea to have at least some knowledge before you go swapping parts on a car.

Compatibility issues... God help the DIY that wants an M-Tech II on his OE Airbag car.

Thats all I can say here.

for the record its not a mtech 2 wheel. if it was, it'd be more than $30.

Sirsteezo was in my driveway when he was installing this steering wheel. It only had 1 wire attached as you see in the pics. The horn was not working (obviously) He's not trying to fuck with you just give him his money back and he will send back the steering wheel. Whether he pays for shipping or not is between you and him.

If anything this should be a complaint topic against you, you sold a steering wheel claiming it to be in working order and failed to follow through with that.

No shit, I got that. It was a comparative.

The problem here is a missing grounding clip an amazingly minor issue..

I don't know that it would cost even 25 cents to fix...

As a matter of fact I don't think I coud say anything was broken....

But whatever, I should have just taken aspirin for the headache and kept my mouth shut.

Most guys don't like to read, just skimming over the thread and are just looking at the pictures. And saying, Hey! it's missing a wire. That's why you're getting alot of these replies about a missing wire.
