    1200 Dollar Project

Alright guys. I'm pretty torn on what I want to do with my tax return. But I want to put it into my e30. So what do you think my best options would be with a 1200 dollar budget on a 325e. I did find an m50 available for 650 on cl but its from an e36, would I be able to complete the swap for around 1200? Doing the work myself. thanks!

a $1200 swap is going to be pretty rough, IMO. Junkyard motor that you can't afford to refresh, used everything else, no margin for if something goes wrong (and it will when everything is used out of a junkyard).

what he said. you're going to spend quite a bit of time looking for parts that are used... and in good shape.

you're going to want to have at least 5k saved up before you go down that road.

After selling my old m42 stuff, I'm right around $1200 in my swap.

You may want to look into a lower gear ratio LS rear if yours is still stock.

I spent about the same in my swap. 1k to 1.5k.

              Here's my list thus far.

If you got a good deal on the engine and use your stock Trans you should be OK.

I did my s52 swap for about $1500. I also sold my old M20 and trans installed For $1200 into someone else's E30. I'd say 5K is way to much
