    Perma-cool fan

So I am moving my car down to arizona and was wondering how well this fan keeps your cars cool. I know a few people on here have them just wondering how they like them and also where they got them from.

So which one are you guys running? and where from?

This is the only place I have found so far.

    Thanks,

    alex

any fan is better than none. a fan shroud will almost double its effectiveness. another option might be to get an e36 secondary(a/c) fan. that one is a quieter, more effecient blade design and comes with a better shroud design. if you do go with an electric fan between the engine and rad, make sure to get the thickness from the specs to be sure that it will clear. most people buy the fairly expensive spal. i assume you are asking about these products to save a bit of cash. remember, it doesn't have to be centered. you could probably offset the electric motor left or right to give you more clearance from the water pump pulley if you need it.

No way a fan will fit in between the engine and rad. Right now I have a spal pusher fan that is doing a good job in washington but I am moving to arizona and wondering if I need somthing bigger because of the heat diffrence.

I bought myself the biggest spal that was available. Model # 30102047. Haven't installed it yet but I figure this thing should be powerful enough to keep temps in check during NYC heat/traffic.

im guessing your fan pulls right now... why dont you just get one more fan and place that in front of the rad. and have it as a push? i think that would do the trick especially in Arizona wheather. just my 2 cents

I have a pusher fan right now. I just dont want to start driving it then have it over heat.

Get a curved blade fan if you don't have one already. They push more air and aren't as loud. Obviously the higher cfm, the better.
I would say, see how your current fan performs in the heat before wasting money on another fan.

Yeah basicly my biggest fear with this car. I cant fit a puller because the engine sits really close to the rad so I was thinking about getting a 16in. perma cool fan.

why not just run what you have now and see if it runs hot? it might be fine. don't throw money at a problem unless you know you have a problem.

I used to have the 16" 2950 CFM fan. Works great, is easy to mount, and is one hell of a price. :D

A word of advice on this fan. It will hang down past the 1st valence opening, so any rocks/debris flying up will easily break a fan blade. That happened to my first one, after it happened a second time, I went with a Flew-all b/c of the fan shroud, and bc I got a sweet deal on it. :(

Your RD front looks to have even bigger openings, so you should block atleast the top one off somehow, to protect the fan.... ;)
