    M52b28 with 318is gearbox question

    Hello from the Netherlands 🙏

Does anyone know wich clutch release bearing I need for this setup :

    M52b28 single vanos
    318is gearbox

    With m20 lightened flywheel
    M20 clutch

Do I need the normal m20b25 clutch release bearing?
I hear people buy the e30 323i bearing.. Cause it's taller?
Or weld strips on the fork or something

Other say just the m20b25 is just good enough

Also what spigot bearing do I need?
And m20 slave cylinder is good?

Hahha so actually 3 questions 😅

    With kind regards
    Sander

Imma guess you need the single mass M20 G260 parts. Reason being the single mass stack- up's shorter
than the dual mass, and the M42 (from whence your gearbox) is the same as the M20 for the trans mounting.

Where I'm a little hesitant is that I don't know which gearbox you have-
is it the overdrive G240/5 from an E30is?

The E36 318is got the 1:1 5th, taller diff, and 'later' design box- the s5d250g.
And as far as I've seen, that never came single mass- so it might be what the longer E21 323 throwout is used for.

now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

      Thank you for the response

Sorry.. I forgot to mention that the gearbox is from an e30 318is m42

With the m20 flywheel being shaved off to 6.5kg
So ok 323i for when u have the e36 gearbox.
And in my case the 325i clutch release bearing is good

      Thank you so much
