    Warm Start Issue

Motor is an S52 OBD2… When car is warm, car starts immediately and then dies. Requires gas application to ‘hold’ it at idle for a few seconds and then everything is fine. What component is most likely causing this?

I would start out by checking fuel pressure when it acts up. It could honestly be a lot of things, but I would use the OBD2 to your advantage. Are you getting any codes?

Nothing is throwing a check engine light but I haven't done a scan since this started to see if there were any pending.. Will take a look. Have checked fuel pressure already and all is normal but have not immediately checked again right after the symptom occurs. Will do that next. FWIW, virtually every single ignition/fuel/sensor component had been replaced, including the DME recently because I was chasing down a fuel adaptation issue for months that turned out to be a MAF problem. However, the MAF was replaced with another used MAF so I'm not sure how 100% it is operating. Could a suspect MAF act funny on warm starts?

Unplug the MAF and see if it idles when warm.
