I'm personally not running the standard 228mm M20 flywheel, but I can verify that a standard Sachs 240mm unit doesnt slip a bit with high rpm shifts and/or high loads. Mine has all of the hot mods.

@ Lifeiskaos-- My friend is running a stock clutch with 18 lbs of boost (low-400 something horsepower). Hooks up fine, even when drag raced at the strip. (surprised me as much as the fact that a stock 180k M20 can take that abuse without popping a HG).

OP, you can use the 240mm clutch/pp/stuff with the M50 and G260. I'd highly recommend that route. Especially with a light flywheel. My setup couldnt be any better for a mixed use car.

if it hasnt been verified by you, please dont spread it
why do you think I swapped out for an IE 6 puck

It was fine in the lower RPM's but if you shifted 6.5+ the clutch would slip for a few sec before it would catch. Like I said though, a stage 2 w/ an HD PP is VERY close to the stock feel. There isn't a reason to go w/ the stock clutch (unless you are broke in which case you should be doing a motor swap) as a stronger clutch is always better. You get quicker shifts which = faster laps, etc.

I was talking about the 228mm NOT the 240mm....

And I would still recommend the e30/e36 325 228mm over the 240mm unless you have an uber amount of power. The 228 is a smaller lighter disk and flywheel. And until you have roasted a 3 or 4 puck clutch, I wouldn't move up to the 240mm.

I have had my M50 TSM chiped car with headers in the 6.5k to 7k hard shifts not slip, but as with any mass produced item there are variables
maybe a weaker batch of material or somthing
But then again mine is a HD stock replacement.

The HD is deff stronger. And a better choice for sure.

I know. I was just mentioning the 240mm because it was standard on the M cars and will handle any stock twin cam, even with up to at least a 15% increase in power.

Magic stock clutch here too. Chipped s50 w/headers for three years then Shrick cams, 3.5 MAF, Injectors etc. for a year.

30k miles and no slippage even at 7k RPM.
