    Houston, we have lift off

    Im dead

    I'll post more later.

    1990 325i

    M50TU

    S50 cams

    Shorty headers

Short run no coolant then longer short run with coolant. Engine surges from idle to 2500rpm....prolly DME adaptation setting in. Open headers and 130am makes me not care. It works, first time.

Thanks to FredK, Jason89 (i think?) and others who helped clear my head of what I already know and was fretting about for no reason. lol.

Enjoy. Started teardown last wednesday night (week and a half ago). Tear down, clean, prep engine bay, paint, reassembly and then started tonight. Saturday is polish parade in chicago and me and the girl (shes polish) are heading there. Sunday, its exhaust fabrication time and firing it up again.

That "surge" sounds like a vacuum leak or a bad icv/hfm. When I first started mine with no headers it did nothing of the sort. Just some things to look into if you haven't already. Other than that congrats!

that exhaust looks awesome. I love the V-band clamps. Get a TRM chip. My bother has the exact same setup as you in his car and the TRM chip really brings it all together.

I like the muffler support stands! I used jackstands on a single in/out muffler and it was aggravating. Stupid thing kept on rotating. :\

I'm curious to see how the system sounds. I've eyed the Hushpower muffler as a resonator, but used one of those Aero Turbines instead.

Yeah, it's shounds like mine did when the ICV was not pluged in all the way. Also check the throttle cable and make sure it is letting it close all the way.

                          Thanks guys!!

                          lolz

Fired it up again tonight with the exhaust and O2 hooked up and it ran normal. Fired it a second time and surged twice and then was fine. My buddy Jim says its prolly idle adaptation which I agree with. I also think the throttle cable is sticking JUST a little bit and/or might need an adjustment. I'll take care of that stuff once everything is all buttoned up.

I will say this exhaust combo sounds just about the best as far as a BMW exhaust Ive ever heard. Flowmaster hushpower resonator and magnaflow muffler. Dual 2" pipes into a single 2.5". It literally sounds like a V8. All stainless tubing, OBX Vbands (really nice pieces, Im impressed).

                          Onto the pix

I'll post another vid tomorrow prolly. Got all the hangers welded up and installed lastnight so its finished. Need to button up the rest of the car and then I'll take vids.
