    s50 dyno results

Got to dyno the e30 on saturday. Ran on a portable dynojet, can't say I was fully pleased with the results given the condition of the engine and build but I need a better exhaust system and work on isolating the intake filter. Car made 226whp and 212lb ft of torque. Torque was very flat, hp climbed nice and smooth but started to make max power at 5500 and stayed flat all the way to redline. AFRs were pretty good too given the injector size, never dipped below 13s.

Given 15 percent loss thats 260 crank and 18 percent makes it 267. I was hoping for the area of 240 at the wheels, but I think that can be had with a few changes (and probably cams).

95 s50 completely rebuilt with maxsil 87mm pistons (3.1 litres) head all stock but all valves relapped to seats. SS replica headers with e30 exhaust and borla muffler. Bimmerworld intake boot with 3.5" hfm, afe filter, 24# injectors and Jim C tune for all mods.

Those numbers dont sound bad at all. I really need to dyno mine before I "clean it all up". I need to isolate my filter as well and do a proper exhaust system.

Those numbers aren't bad at all for an s50. Get a tune from TRM and you're car will do better in the real world and on the dyno. I went for a custom tune from RMS after the Jim Conforti tune, and my car put to 11whp/8wtq more! The TMS chip runs too rich with the 21.5# injectors, which causes you to max ou around 5500.

I would like to try a TRM chip, if I upgrade the cams then I'll go with them.

^Yeah, it doesn't seem bad compared to most numbers I remember seeing.
