    valve ticking after hard cornering

So my car is always quiet with normal, hard acceleration driving, but I've found after running several autocross events I get a pretty nasty valve tick. Starts with one or two then gets worse as its run around more. It will go away only after constant driving about 10 minutes.

I dont run an oil pressure or temp gauge, I've never got a low oil pressure light. I figure it has to be oil sloshing around in the pan and not getting to the pickup but I'd suspect a low oil pressure condition in those situations. Only other thing I gather is that the oil is getting hot and thining out, makes me almost think this as if it was a pressure issue it should go away after idling but it doesnt. I run 10 40 oil. Is there anything I can do with the oil pan as far as baffling the pan? I dont recall ever having this problem on my m50. I'm looking at getting gauges for the engine to see whats actually going on.

Hmm, my S50 E34 Touring does this when it is almost to the lower dipstick line. My suggestion would be to run some thicker oil and to check it everytime you fill up. I run regular Mobil 1 Synthetic 15W50 in the spring/summer/fall and 10W40 in the winter. I'd say for now just make sure it is almost all the way filled up.

I'm not sure about tracking/auto-xing the DOHC motors, but I know that it is common for M20 guys at the track to overfill the engine by a quart to help prevent the starvation problem.

Obviously I'm not necessarily recommending it, but it does work well.

hmm I guess if guys are doing it it works but afaik overfilling your oil pan can cause oil foaming and loss of more than just the overfilled amount of oil.

someone posted a thread a while back about this. Something to the point of "watch your oil pressure guys" He was talking about when he installed a OPG he could see it drop while he was heavily cornering.
