    SCORE!!! Free M50 with Tranny!

    Okay so I had my b27 swapped for a b25 and in doing so the guy's shop... Moved. So he was cleaning out his garage and offered an m50 with a cracked head/head gasket and a tranny that slips.

    SCORE... and not. Since I have no experiance with this motor and tranny and I have yet to do any significant research yet...
    Please note my technical aptitude is about a 3 outta 10 with a 1 being dont know how to change a tire...
    Soooooo, What am I looking at?

    A.) a huge paper wieght
    B.) a nice project A.K.A. Money Pit
    C.) Deal of the Century

    tranny that slips...... bad clutch = good

    m50 with toast head can go a couple differnt ways. none of which are cheap.

    somewhere in between a and b... your still gonna nees alot of parts... booster tans brace oil pan ecu harness etc

      unless it was an automatic? I still have to really look at everything. I'm having the guy drop it off at my house on monday.

        Sweet, how much did he pay you to take it?

        Seriously, if it has a cracked head/head gasket it was probably overheated in which case the head is probably toast and the block is iffy. Most people will opt to swap the entire engine, which is probably why you got it for free.

          EXACTLY, but You can't beat free bra. And I figured it was a good way to LEARN! Basically thats what I'm looking to do here, so i figure its a good exercise in futility. No point in wrecking a good engine when You know NOTHING about it eh?
