    M50 swap - e28 M5 Engine Mounts

I've read all 72 pages and In think I'm more confused than before I read anything.

I'm going to use the e28 M5 engine mounts for my M50 e30 swap.

Do I need a right and left or two from one side? Thanks

An e28 M5 uses a cylindrical mount on the passenger side and that isn't the one you want. The one you need is the drivers side mount and yes, you will need two of them.

I used E28 5 series mounts. Cheaper you just need to put them in the outer subframe holes.

I've already got the turner subframe reinforcements so i'd prefer not to have to drill and I'd think the M5 ones are stiffer.

yes, from what I hear the M5 mount are stiffer and there maybe A LOT more NVH, too much for DD but nice for a track car, hmm they are only $28.50 at pelican

Do you still get two driver's side or do you just get one driver and one pass?

That's exactly what i'm trying to figure out. One from each side or two from the same side. Has anyone used the M5 motor mounts and what did you buy?

I was asking about the non-m5 mounts though?

if it's any help, I've used two e34 bellpepper mounts and i'm currently using e34 poly mounts with good results, and my oilpan clears the subframe

So I'm correct that when using regular e34 mounts you use one driver side and one passenger side, correct?

yes, you are correct, you just have to use switch mounting holes on the subframe and you're ready to mount the engine

I'm using E28 M5 mounts, they're the same size and shape as the 525i mounts though.

+1 to the more i read, the more i am confused.

mr325, you used driver & pass, or driver/driver?

to be clear, e34 motor mount arms and e28 m5 mounts should work flawlessly on my m/s5x swap, right?
