GrouppeN cams have the same specs as the M50 cams for lift and duration. The only benefit to Grouppe N cams is that they are blueprinted to be at the outer tolerance for the spec; ie the most lift and duration within spec tolerance.
The S50, M52, and S52 trays are all the same. The M50 trays are different. The NV M50 can be "hot cammmed" by moving the intaket cam to the exhaust side and purchasing a single intake side schrick cam. Don't know what specs to look for tho.

^ So this means my cams WILL swap in to the S52 and his came will go in to my S50?
To the best of my knowledge, real OEM shows all the PN of the trays/lifters the same, and i had heard of s50 cams going in m52's with no change of lifters/trays. The ONLY difference in the s50 and s52 cams is one has a round core and one has a square core.
i was just reading up on bimmerforums today about cam swaps. probably going to get s50's for my m50. with a good tune its good for 20-30hp....not bad considering you can get them used for like 300shipped and direct bolt in.... then the chip will cost tho.
