    Regulator next to feul pump

Was changing the pipes at the feul pump under the car and noticed something that looks like a regulator, is this necessary or can i remove it, what does it do?

That is probably the fuel pulse dampener, which is placed inline between the filter and the injector rail. I guess its purpose was to avoid a resonance in fuel supply when the fuel pump pulse matched up with the pulse rate of the injectors. Most people delete this with no real effect on performance. Some people have noticed a leaning in AFRs with it removed.
