It doesn't. There's a big washer that goes on the outside of the flywheel.

Turns out there was not enough material taken off the block side of the flywheel...Guess I should have let it get installed when I was not present. Double work oh joyous fun!!.

Removing the transmission while on your backside of a 24V install with a 260 ick. Goes back in tonight in rain. Even more fun.

Argh. That's definitely one of the things you don't want to have to do twice!

Without a doubt. I was not there when the flywheel and clutch was installed I figured it wasn't that hard of a job, so while I was gone that was done. I installed the engine and tranny combo one night and came back expecting it to be wires and finished but a month delay is a PIA it' needs to be out of the driveway. I want the spot for my 90 325i so I can start driving it more.

Oh bitching sorry need rain to pass so I can go work now.

I'm kinda lost why did you need to take material off the block side of the flywheel, i thought the late 5spd flywheel bolted up fine besides the the issue with the oil pan ribs?

Early 325i 5 speed, it's a late 86 built 325i which makes it an 87. It was rubbing the back mounts of the pan. Machine shop didn't remove enough material and the starter was making horrendous noises. Still does but works fine. It's an autozone rebuild so I'm thinking it's just a loud unit.

Be gone basicly this weekend so I'm happy to have the spot back in driveway for the M3. It's been in the grass off and on all summer.
