So I have a few spare engines and have opportunity to get another low mileage S50 combo for a reasonable price of 2.3K. Granted the economy is a little slow but would you drop 2.3K on a engine/trans and accesories and harness at the moment?

I am also considering a D-mod M3 that is incomplete. The S50 would be going in the D-mod as it's an incomplete project.

Yes.

IMO, there is never a 'right time' for something like this because it's not an investment or a necessity. You can rationalize / justify it as stimulating the economy :D

I would save that 2.3k for a s52. Might as well wait it out a little longer to see what else you could get.

It's at 116K so not so nervous on it. Most S52's around here are higher mileage as people use their M3 as commuters.
