No FI correct? I have been debating a set but purchased a supercharger instead since the car is just a street car.

The plan is for a 2.3l high revving turbo motor. Hopefully it'll turn out the monster that it is on paper. Its going to be 2.0l euro crank, custom S52 pistons, w/ sunbelt cams. The cams may be overkill but we'll see.

The great thing about the 2.0l crank is it takes the stroke down to 66mm instead of the 75mm 2.5l m50, or the 91mm of the s52! Should help the motor turn higher safer...

I'm only a few hard days of work away from getting mine running. Gotta bang up the firewall and subframe in a few hours. Hopefully have the bitch dropped in asap.

I like your plan. For what Sunbelts + tune or EvoSPort + tune costs for cams, I'd rather buy a used S/C setup.

I've run the Sunbelt "sport" cams in my IP engine for a few years now. My engine used to run their race cams when it was pulling duty in an actual race car, but they could not be configured for OBDII in my E36 M3 so they had to be replaced with the Sports.

M-technik-3, since you're local, when you want to drive an E30 with Sunbelts, PM me. I do have a bit more going on in my engine than just the cams, but it will at least give you an idea of how an S52 responds to this setup.

I have sunbelt sport cams in my s52 swap and I love it. Don't have dyno numbers yet but it's faster then my other s52 swap with same mods and no sunbelts. I think it's worth it. Wouldn't spend the money on shricks though.

You need to get out and help me finish my Autronic SM-4 set up so I can run my fg box on the m3.

Yeah you have quite a bit in yours. looking forward to driving a car with some omph. Vert's sluggish.

When I get my Schrick grind, we can set up some pulls when I'm in the Bay. The Schricks have WAY more usable power below the curve and in the mid-range. Sunbelts aren't worth the low-end loss and make only 5-10 whp more up top.

I'm shooting for about 11k which should be pretty safe. But if it doesn't turn out so well I have another motor

Here is a little lesson for ya on over square motors...
                              "Oversquare

A piston engine is oversquare or shortstroke if its cylinders have a greater bore (width, diameter) than stroke (length of piston travel). This is generally considered to be a positive trait, since (all things equal) a shorter stroke results in less friction and less stress on the crankshaft. An oversquare engine is generally more reliable, wears less, and can be run at a higher speed. In oversquare engines low-speed torque tends to be lower since torque is relative to crank throw (distance from the crank center to the piston pin center) as well as the lowering pressure of the combustion gases as the piston descends. Engines can be modified by being "de-stroked", shortening the stroke to increase maximum rpms and top-end power, at the expense of low-end torque.
Oversquare engines tend to be lighter and shorter than similar undersquare engines along the direction of piston travel, but they are wider in directions perpendicular to piston travel. As the length is not a large problem, these engine types are highly favored by many manufacturers because of their power and compact size.
Some Formula One engines have a bore to stroke ratio of approximately 2.5:1 and are capable of revving to 19,000 rpm.
                              "

I'm obv not just removing the r3v limiter on a stock motor and thinking I'm gonna be an f1 king. There is a lot going into the block and head to make her turn at those RPM's.
